Hello and thanks for stopping by!
My name is Amirata Ghorbani (A-mi-RAH-tuh GOR-bah-nee, امیرعطا قربانی). I am a fourth year PhD student at Stanford University and I have been lucky to be advised by James Zou.
I work on different problems in supervised machine learning and throughout my PhD journey I have done research on Machine Learning Fairness, Machine Learning Interpretability, and Applications of Machine Learning in Healthcare and Genomics. Recently, I have started working on methods for fair data valuation in supervised machine learning.
I have previously been a research intern in Google Brain and Google Brain Medical working on machine learning interpretability and fairness. Before joining Stanford, I studied as an Electrical Engineering bachelor of science student in Sharif University of Technology working on problems in Signal Processing and Game Theory.
